[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, border: solid #ffffff 0px; width: 425px; height: 105px;] welcome Hey there, prospective member! I'd like to welcome you to Halcyon Farms, a realistic roleplay set in in Wellington, Florida, focusing on a premier hunter, jumper, and equitation barn called, well, Halcyon Farms. While there's a ton of drama in-character, we'd love to keep the OOC drama to an absolute minimum. Please read over our rules to get an idea of what we're looking for! We'd love to have you here, and we're looking forward to your application. |
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, border: solid #ffffff 0px; width: 425px; height: 105px;] Everybody knows what powerplaying and godmodding are, and not to do them, right? Good. Just be polite to everyone, and we'll get along fine. We don't have a set-in-stone word count, but please try to match your partner; if they're giving you 500 words, try to respond with at least 400. Everybody has off days, so please be understanding. If it's a consistent issue, ask one of the admins to deal with it. We are a one character per account site, so please make your display name reflect your character's name. There's no limit on the number of characters you can have, or the number of horses those characters have, so go wild. Just keep in mind the realistic aspect of the game; while it's realistic for a trust-fund junior to have four or five horses, a workaday amateur would probably only have one horse. Remember, flaws are human! No Mary Sues, please; we'll ask you to change your character if we think he or she is too perfect.

Since Halcyon is a hunter, jumper, and equitation barn, please keep horse breeds germane to those disciplines. You don't often see a Shire in the hunters, or a Saddlebred doing the jumpers. Stallions should be kept to a minimum, and remember than juniors can't show studs in hunters or eq. And much like people, horses have flaws - maybe Pony hates the right lead, or Horsey is scared of fake flowers. Other than those rules, we don't mind what you do with your horses. Have fun!

showing
In-character, showing is a big part of life at Halcyon. Out-of-character, we'd prefer you post every day, than win every show. That's why we have this rule: you must post at least once in the week the show takes place in order to compete. So if the show runs on Sunday, you'll have to make a post sometime between the Sunday before the show and the time the show actually runs. It's a pretty easy requirement, but also very important. All shows, except for championships and special classes, are placed by randomizer. Championships and special classes (anything with a large purse) require full-length posts and will be judged on the quality of those posts.
