idol hour.
THIRTEEN. MARE. WESTPHALIAN. HUNTER.
Idol Hour. How do I begin to explain Idol Hour? She is flawless. One time she showed in front of George Morris, and he said she looked good. One time she bucked me off, and it was awesome. Dolly, as she's more commonly known, is one of the best 3'6" hunters in the zone, if you can stay on her long enough to get around the course. She bucks, kicks, and rears if you don't stay perfectly quiet in the saddle and just let her do her job. Literally the only thing she needs in the show ring is steering, and even then, if it's anything more than a very quiet suggestion, you'd better have a tight seat. She's got auto changes, will find the right distance every time, can win the hack... if you just leave her alone.
leap year.
NINE. MARE. THOROUGHBRED. JUMPER.
Bunny has been five years off the track, and you almost wouldn't know she was ever on it, except for the lip tattoo. She's been going in the children's jumpers with a 13-year-old and the low AOs with her mother. She's very sound and is for sale only because her owners are a military family, now stationed overseas. Bunny is a very sweet mare with enough scope for the low junior/amateur divisions, but not quite enough for the higher jumpers. She could do the equitation with some work. Dolly is for sale only.
rebound.
FIFTEEN. GELDING. DUTCH WARMBLOOD. HUNTER.
Rebound's on his way down from a long, moderately successful amateur owner hunter career. He's still sound with some matinence for 3' and below, and really loves his job. Rebound is a quiet, easy horse who's been there, done that, at every major show in the country. He can be in the ribbons in good company, but not always at the very top. This is a horse who would be right at home in the children's or adult amateur hunters. Rebound is for lease only.
fair enough.
FIFTEEN. MARE. DUTCH WARMBLOOD. HUNTER.
Fairy's been a constant presence in the older amateur owner hunters for almost six years. She knows her job exceptionally well, but that doesn't make her a push-button ride, per say. Fairy will take ribbons in the hack and over fences (she particularly likes handy classes) if you know how to ride her. She's not tough, but she needs a steady hand and leg throughout the course. She's for sale because her owner is getting on in years and now prefers to watch her grandson in the pony jumpers, and with Fairy's mile-long show record, she's not expected to stay on the market for long.
sacrament r.
FOUR. MARE. HANOVERIAN. ???
Sally has been to exactly one show, and the only ribbon to her name is a pink one for hunter breeding. She's not exactly the best put-together horse out there, but she's got a stellar mind. With 60 days under saddle, she's safe for anyone to ride and she learns quickly. Sally is the ideal horse for an amateur to train. She has a pretty jump with lots of expression, but Sally also tends toward the fast side. She enjoys her job, and could go toward hunters (with some slowing down) or to jumpers (with a little more pace). Equitation girls are also eyeing this mare; such an easy ride would be stellar for the big eq.
